The most common question that reaches us in smart home advice is: where should I start? Our answer is always the same: with your daily life, not with the technology. We do not first ask which devices you want to buy, but what you wish to make easier. Would you like the light to come on by itself when you arrive home? Does it bother you that the heating runs in an empty house? Would you like peace of mind when you are out and can check whether doors and windows are closed? From such wishes we derive which technology makes sense, and which you can safely leave out.

We almost always recommend starting small. A single area that works well and proves itself in everyday life is worth more than a fully connected house that overwhelms. Once the first step is in place and you feel confident, your smart home can be expanded at any time. During the actual setup, we build precisely on this plan so that every further device fits cleanly into the existing system.

Good advice answers the questions you often do not even think to ask beforehand. We go through the most important points with you, explain them in plain language and take the time you need.

In the smart home there is no single right system, but many paths that fit differently well depending on your wishes. We explain the differences so you understand them, without technical jargon. Some solutions communicate over Wi-Fi and are especially easy to start with; others work with a small control hub and are therefore more independent of the internet. Still others rely on the cross-manufacturer Matter standard, with which devices from different brands work together better.

Which path is right for you depends on several things: what you already own, how comfortable you are with technology, how much you want to invest and how important independence from the internet is to you. We deliberately advise neutrally, without favoring a particular brand, and name advantages and disadvantages openly. In the end you decide yourself, because it concerns your home and your budget.

Smart devices are helpful, but they also collect data and are connected to the internet. That is no reason for worry if you know what to look out for. That is exactly part of our advice. We explain in an understandable way which data a device processes, where this data ends up and how you avoid unnecessary data collection from the start. Often a lot can be limited through the right settings without comfort suffering.

When it comes to security, the main point is to make outside access harder. This includes secure passwords, a well-configured Wi-Fi and regular device updates. We show you how to put these points into practice and, on request, set them up directly. This way you make an informed decision and do not have to rely on promises. No one can assure complete protection, but with the right measures you reduce the risk considerably.

We proceed calmly and comprehensibly. At the end of the session you hold a clear plan in your hands and know what the next steps will cost before you decide.

With us there are no hidden costs. The home-visit flat rate is 79 € for one appointment up to 60 minutes. If it takes longer, we charge each additional half hour begun at 39 €. Travel within 10 km of Nordstemmen is included; beyond that we charge 0.50 € per kilometer. As a rule, one appointment is enough for sound advice.
