Many people own a Mac but use only a small part of its possibilities. Perhaps you switched from Windows and have not quite found your way around yet, or the Mac was a gift and sits a little untouched on the desk. This is exactly where we from Technik daheim come in. In our macOS course you learn on your own device how to use the Mac confidently, without jargon and without pressure. We come to your home, follow your pace and explain every step until it truly sticks. In the end you should feel at home with your Mac and be able to use it independently in everyday life. For iPhone and iPad there is the iOS course and the iPhone course; when switching from an old computer we handle the data transfer and set up the data backup.

Your macOS Course, Tailored to Your Starting Point
What You Learn in Our macOS Course
We tailor the course entirely to you. Some people want to understand the basics first, others have a concrete goal, such as sorting photos or mastering the switch from Windows. In the first conversation we find out where you stand and put the content together accordingly. The following topics are the most common building blocks, combinable to suit your needs. Also worth a look is the page on computer courses at home.
Desktop, Dock and menu bar
We give you a calm overview: where do I find what, how do I open and close programs, what do the symbols at the top and bottom of the screen mean.
Finder and files
Create, rename, move and above all find files and folders again. With search and tags you keep an overview even over the years.
System settings
Connect Wi-Fi, enlarge text, adjust brightness, sound and the mouse pointer. This way the Mac truly becomes your Mac and is pleasant to use.
Install programs
Download, set up and remove apps from the App Store. We explain how you recognise trustworthy programs and what is better avoided.
Photos, Mail and Safari
Import and sort photos, write emails safely and browse the internet. The most important everyday programs, explained step by step.
Practical tricks
Keyboard shortcuts, Spotlight search, several windows side by side and quickly backing up important files. Small tricks that save a lot of time every day.
From Switching Over to Confident Use
A Good Start After Switching From Windows, Too
Anyone switching to the Mac from another system often looks for familiar buttons and paths at first, which are named differently or located elsewhere. This is exactly the bridge we build together. We compare what you already know with how the Mac solves it and translate the terms for you. This way you do not have to relearn everything but build on your knowledge. That takes away much of the initial uncertainty and makes the switch noticeably more pleasant. With tech help in Nordstemmen we come to your home as well.
- Where is the file explorer? We show you the Finder
- Use right-click, copy and paste confidently on the Mac
- Transfer data from the old device to the Mac
- Find programs that handle your usual tasks
| Familiar in Windows | On the Mac it is called |
|---|---|
| File Explorer | Finder |
| Control Panel | System Settings |
| Right-click menu | Context menu (Ctrl+Click) |
| Task Manager | Activity Monitor |
| Windows key, Search | Spotlight (Cmd+Space) |
For beginners and seniors
We take our time, speak without jargon and repeat as often as feels right for you. No one has to be embarrassed, every question is welcome.
For switchers
Coming from another system? We translate the familiar into the world of the Mac so you can quickly work productively and confidently again.
Security from the start
Updates, passwords and a sensible backup are part of it. We show how to protect your Mac and your data without it becoming complicated.
Explained patiently
You set the pace. We take breaks, go through things several times and are glad when the famous aha moment arrives.
For iPhone and iPad too
Why a macOS Course at Home Works Better
A course in your own home has a big advantage over one in unfamiliar rooms: you learn on exactly the device you will use every day afterwards. There is no strange keyboard, no unfamiliar mouse and no different settings that might confuse you again once you are back home. Everything we practise together happens on your own Mac, in your familiar surroundings. This makes what you learn tangible and ensures it really sticks in everyday life, instead of getting lost again after the appointment. We are regularly out in the neighbourhood, for instance with tech help in Sarstedt.
Then there is the calm atmosphere. In a group, many people do not dare to ask because they do not want to hold others up. With us you are the only person in the course, there is no pace set by others and no question is too small. You may repeat things as often as you like, and we take breaks whenever it feels right for you. Especially for people who have tended to avoid the computer so far, this protected setting takes away much of the tension and lets real understanding grow.

How a Course Appointment Works at Your Home
So you know what to expect, here is the typical flow. We always work on your own Mac, because practising on someone else's device does little for everyday life. This way you learn exactly the paths you will take every day later on. A good fit alongside: office courses.
Briefly discuss what you want
At the start we clarify where you stand and what you wish from the Mac. You name your questions, and together we decide what to begin with.
Step by step on your own device
We go through the topics on your Mac, you do it yourself, we look over your shoulder. So it does not stay theory, you practise right away.
Repeat until it sticks
We go through important steps several times, at your pace. Only once you feel confident do we move on to the next point.
Cheat sheet and next step
On request we write down the most important steps as a note so you can read everything again. If needed, we arrange a follow-up appointment right away.
Ready to Finally Understand Your Mac?
We come to your home, practise on your own device and explain everything until it sticks. Simply get in touch, and we will find a suitable appointment — single lessons from 59 € per 60 minutes.
What the macOS Course Costs
Our prices are transparent and without hidden costs. You pay for the time we spend together on your Mac and for the honest, patient explanation. As a private customer, all prices include VAT. This often comes up in connection with photo management course.
Single lessons from 59 €
Single lessons at your home cost 59 € per 60 minutes. In this time we tackle your most important Mac topics, calmly and at your own pace.
5-session card for 269 €
If you would like to practise regularly, the 5-session card is better value: five sessions for 269 €, around 54 € per session. This way you become confident on the Mac step by step.
Travel included
Travel within the Nordstemmen and Leine valley area is included up to 10 km. Beyond that we charge only 0.50 € per kilometre, transparent and easy to follow.
Notes on request
On request you receive a small cheat sheet with the most important steps in plain language, so you can confidently continue after the appointment.
There is another advantage for your tax return. Single lessons at your home count as a household-related service in Germany. As a result, you can claim part of the labour costs, usually up to 20 percent (Section 35a German Income Tax Act), in your tax return. On request we itemise the labour costs separately on the invoice so you can easily transfer the figures. Whether and to what extent this benefits you depends on your personal situation.
