Many people would like to handle their banking comfortably from home but do not quite dare: which button really triggers a transfer? What is a TAN, and why does it keep changing? And how do I recognize a fake email from my bank? This uncertainty is understandable, because no one wants to make a mistake with money. This is exactly where the online banking course from Technik daheim comes in. We come to you, sit down together at your own computer, tablet or smartphone and go through everything calmly. You practice with real procedures, ask as many questions as you like, and in the end you know what you are doing. On request we write down the most important steps as a small cheat sheet so you can look them up later too. What changes with bank transfers is explained in our guide on payee verification in online banking; typical scams are covered in our article on phishing and fake calls.

What You Learn in the Online Banking Course

The course follows you, not a fixed curriculum. Still, there are topics that interest almost everyone because they come up again and again in daily life. Together we pick out what matters to you and leave out what you do not need. This way you do not waste time on things you will never use. We drive out for that too, more under tech help in Bad Salzdetfurth.

With online banking in particular, it helps to learn in familiar surroundings. At home at your own table, with your own computer and without strangers watching, much becomes easier than in a crowded classroom. You can ask questions at any time, take a break or repeat a step as often as you like. Because the two of us sit at one device, no one moves ahead too quickly, and you always stay in control of what happens on the screen. That takes the pressure away and turns a topic that long commanded respect into a calm, manageable step. This combines well with what we offer under password manager setup.

Log in safely

We show you how to log in to online banking correctly, how to recognize your bank's real site and why you must never share your access data.

Transfer step by step

From entering the IBAN to the reference and sending: we practice a transfer together until you feel confident doing it on your own.

Understand the TAN procedure

push-TAN, chipTAN or approval via app: we explain which procedure you use, what the TAN is for and why it protects your transfer.

Spot fraud

Fake emails, false calls and dangerous links: you get to know the typical schemes and afterwards know when you should become suspicious.

Balance and transactions

You see how to check your balance, review transactions and view or print a bank statement, all without a trip to the bank.

App or computer

Whether you prefer working on a computer or smartphone: we set up the way that suits you and practice on exactly the device you use daily.

Transfer Safely, Without Fear of Mistakes

The Transfer Explained Step by Step

A transfer seems intimidating at first, yet it is only a few fields: recipient, IBAN, amount and reference. We go through each field one by one and show you what really matters, such as checking the IBAN carefully and verifying the amount once more before you tap send. You practice this as often as you like, with a test transfer or a real small payment. Afterwards you know exactly which click does what and no longer have to be afraid of making a mistake. We provide the same service with tech help in Bockenem.

  • Enter the IBAN correctly and check it before sending
  • Carefully verify the amount and the reference
  • Know exactly where the transfer is really triggered
  • Practice calmly until you feel confident on your own
Transfer step by steppractised in the course
Step 1

Carefully copy the name and IBAN into the form.
Step 2

Step 4

Three Simple Rules That Stick

  • Your bank never asks for your PIN or TAN by email or phone
  • A TAN always approves exactly one transfer, read the amount in the app
  • Under pressure or in a hurry, better hang up and call the bank yourself calmly

Spot Fraud Before Damage Occurs

In online banking, the greatest danger does not lie in the technology but in tricks aimed at your trust. Fraudsters pose as your bank, as a relative in distress or as a parcel service and try to push you into acting quickly. More than half of internet users in Germany have already been affected by such cybercrime (Bitkom). In the course we look at real examples so you recognize the patterns and stay calm when in doubt. Additional information is available under email course.

Phishing emails

Supposed messages from your bank that prompt you to click because your account is allegedly locked. We show you how to recognize a fake by the sender and the address.

Calls and texts

Supposed bank employees who ask for your TAN or access data. You learn that a real bank never does this, and how to end such a conversation safely.

Fake websites

Recreated bank login pages that look deceptively real. We practice how to enter the correct address yourself and check the padlock symbol in the browser.

Pressure and haste

Any message that pushes you to act immediately is suspicious. We discuss why staying calm is your best protection and when it is better to ask the bank.

When in doubt: do not click, ask instead

If you are unsure about a message or a call, do not click anything and do not reveal any data. Instead, call your bank using the number on the back of your bank card. If something really did happen, we help you calmly, for example through our data protection and security courses. This often comes up in connection with regions.

How Your Appointment at Home Works

You do not have to prepare anything and do not have to know anything. We come to you with patience and time, sit down at your table and begin exactly where you are. You set the pace, and there are no silly questions. A fixed contact person comes to you, no changing team and no anonymous hotline. This way you already know a familiar face next time, and we know where we left off the last time. A look at the page on computer courses at home is worthwhile here too.

Would You Like to Finally Master Online Banking Safely?

We come to you, practice calmly on your own devices and answer every question, entirely without pressure. You arrange the first appointment easily.

What the Course Costs

When it comes to money, the price should be clear too. That is why you will find all costs openly written down here, without fine print. You pay exactly what we agreed on beforehand, and all prices include value-added tax for private customers. By the way: as a household-related service, up to 20 percent of the labour costs can be claimed in your tax return (§35a German Income Tax Act); of course we issue you a proper invoice for this. In the same appointment we also cover the topic of technology for seniors on request.
