Travel within 10 km around Nordstemmen is included, beyond that 0.50 € per kilometre.
Since support for Windows 10 ended in October 2025, many computers no longer receive regular security updates (Microsoft). The computer keeps running, but new security gaps are no longer closed. There is a time-limited programme with extended security updates for private households, yet that does not solve the question permanently. So the choice is the move to Windows 11 or a new computer. Both are perfectly manageable once somebody takes a calm look. We from Technik daheim come to you, check the hardware, back up your data, carry out the change and set up your programs, your email account and the printer again. At the end we show you what looks different and where to find things. You can read the background on the end of support in our guide on the end of Windows 10 support, and on securing your files in the right backup strategy. Related services are data transfer, data backup and the Windows course at home.

What We Handle for Your Move to Windows 11
A system change is more than clicking "update now". What matters is what happens before and afterwards: backing up your files, rescuing passwords and licences, and the question of whether your familiar programs still run. That is exactly what we take off your hands. You will find all our other services under services, the fixed prices are listed under prices.
Hardware check on site
We check processor, memory, security chip and storage space and tell you honestly whether the upgrade is worthwhile on your computer or whether a new device is the more sensible choice.
Back up data first
Before anything is changed, we back up your documents, photos and emails to an external drive. Only after that does the actual change begin.
Carry out the upgrade
We guide the installation, install the necessary updates and set up your sign-in. You do not have to sit next to us during this if you would rather not.
Files and programs back
Documents, photos, bookmarks and your email account return to their place. We reinstall your familiar programs as far as they run under Windows 11.
Reconnect printer and devices
Printer, scanner, external hard drive and Wi-Fi are reconnected and tested. More on that under printer setup.
The new layout explained
Start menu, taskbar and settings look different. We go through the most important points with you so you find your way around straight away.
Upgrade or New Device: What Makes Sense in Your Case
An Honest Assessment Before You Decide
Not every computer should be upgraded
Windows 11 has clear hardware requirements: a 64-bit processor with at least two cores, at least 4 GB of memory, 64 GB of storage as well as a security chip and a modern start-up method (Microsoft). Many computers from 2018 onwards meet that, older devices frequently do not. But even when the requirements are met, an upgrade is not always the right idea: a ten-year-old hard drive slows down a new system too, and a device that already takes a minute to start will not get faster afterwards. That is why we look not only at the list of requirements but also at how you use the computer. Sometimes the upgrade is exactly right, sometimes a memory expansion is enough, and sometimes a new device is honestly the cheaper solution over the coming years. We tell you that before the appointment and never sell you something you do not need.
- We check the requirements and the actual condition of the device
- An honest recommendation, even when it argues against upgrading
- With a new computer we carry your data over completely
- You decide, we never buy anything without asking
What Often Goes Wrong During the Move
Most problems arise not during the installation but before and after it. Anyone who does not back up first may lose photos. Anyone whose passwords only live in the browser is locked out after the change. That is why we work in a fixed order and take time for the points that really matter in daily life. How to organise login details for good is described under password manager setup.
No backup before the change
A system change usually runs smoothly, but not always. Without a backup a mistake is painful, with one it is merely a delay. That is why we always back up first, more on that under data backup.
Passwords only in your head or browser
After the change, programs and websites ask for login details again. We note together beforehand what will be needed and set up a password manager on request.
Email account not set up again
Older mailboxes in particular are stored only locally. We back up the messages and set up the account again so your correspondence stays complete. Related: email course.
Old programs no longer run
Some older software does not continue to run under Windows 11. We check that in advance and look for an alternative together rather than leaving you alone with it afterwards.
Good to know: back up first, then upgrade
How Your Appointment Works at Your Place
You do not need to prepare anything. It is enough if the computer is in its usual place and you roughly know which programs you use regularly. We clarify everything else on site. If you use the computer for work, also read tech help for businesses.
Check the device
We look at the computer: processor, memory, security chip, storage space and the condition of the hard drive. Then we tell you clearly whether the upgrade makes sense or whether a new device would be the better choice.
Back up data
We back up documents, photos, emails and bookmarks to an external drive. Together we go through which folders matter to you so nothing is forgotten.
Carry out the upgrade
We start the installation, install the updates and set up your sign-in and the basic settings. Depending on the device this takes a different amount of time.
Programs and devices
Your familiar programs, the email account, the printer and Wi-Fi come back. We test with you that everything works before moving on.
Show how it works
Finally we go through the new start menu, the taskbar and the most important settings. On request we tidy the desktop and put your most-used programs within easy reach.
Have Your Move to Windows 11 Guided
Hardware check, backup, upgrade and explanation in one appointment at your home. Home-visit flat rate from 79 €, travel within 10 km included.
What Looks Different After the Move
Windows 11 is no harder to use than its predecessor, but many things sit in a different place. That is unsettling at first and passes quickly once somebody shows you the key points. If you want to go deeper, book the Windows course at home or general computer courses.
- The start menu sits in the middle but can be moved back to the left
- The settings are sorted differently, all the familiar functions are still there
- The search finds programs and files faster than before
- Windows can be docked side by side, handy for letters and photos
- The folder with your documents and pictures stays in its familiar place
- On request we pin your most important programs to the taskbar
