Does my smart home still work if the internet goes down?

That depends on the system, but it can be planned for. Many basic functions continue to work without internet, such as switching a light via the normal wall switch or a fixed heating schedule that runs locally. Functions that rely on the phone app, voice commands or a cloud service, on the other hand, usually need a connection.
